How should we deal with the water crisis?

30 Mar 2021
The value of water is not only reflected in economics. Water is a necessary condition for life, and it also plays a fundamental role in the process of human development. However, it is deeply worrying that we still need to remind the world that water is very important.

In the past, water, especially rivers, has always been the source of nation and state building. Vigorous culture and great civilization are developed by relying on river resources. Water also binds many countries and cultures together.

The cooperation of the Rhine Basin countries can be said to have laid the foundation for the establishment of the current European Union. The Mekong and Zambezi Rivers have also created conditions for other forms of cooperation between basin countries. The cooperation arrangements of the Colorado River, Columbia River and Limpopo River Basin countries have made important contributions to the bilateral relations of these countries.

However, in recent decades, water scarcity has become a major concern. The origin of this crisis is now well known. As the World Water Council clearly pointed out in the 1990s, "population growth-superimposing industrialization and urbanization-will lead to an increase in demand for water, and will have a serious impact on the environment."

However, water scarcity is no longer a problem in the distant future. The world is already experiencing a severe global water crisis. More than 40% of the world's population is in trouble due to lack of water.

By 2050, an additional 2.3 billion people in Asia, Africa and the Middle East are expected to suffer severe water shortages. Although the alarm bell has been sounded for more than 30 years, and relevant people have also boasted at the global summit, the global water crisis will continue to pose a huge challenge to human survival and well-being.

About one-third of the world's people (2.2 billion people) do not have access to clean drinking water; 4.2 billion people cannot fully enjoy properly managed sanitation services; 3 billion people do not have access to basic hand-washing facilities. Every year, more than 800,000 people die from diarrhoeal diseases due to unsafe drinking water, lack of sanitation facilities and unsanitary hands. In contrast, the number of people killed in 54 armed conflicts worldwide in 2019 was approximately 51,000.

Therefore, we should send a clear message. The goal is to let water conservancy professionals and politicians work together to establish a coordinated water governance system. The world water crisis is real and the problem is serious; climate change makes it very urgent-we don't have time to shirk our responsibilities; it is urgent for all parties to work together to find a solution. The birth of the atmospheric water generator is an inevitable product of this situation.

The so-called air water generator is a device that can directly collect water from the air and process it into drinking water without an external water source. The concept of "atmospheric water generator" can let people get rid of the constraints of water sources, use air as the source of water production, collect water molecules in the air, condense, purify, and directly produce direct drinking water. And there is a filtering system, so that you can drink healthy water. Atmospheric water generator have broader application scenarios than ordinary water purifiers and water dispensers, and can be arranged as you like.
